Our conference facility is the Disney Coronado Springs Resort, a charming hotel done in the
style of the American Southwest and Mexico. The hotel is situated in Orlando's Walt Disney
World, a vast array of theme hotels and parks with seemingly endless possibilities for
dining, shopping, and entertainment. We have negotiated a room rate of $155 plus tax for
single or double occupancy. Our contract also allows for a few rooms at the published
government rate in year 2003. To qualify for the government rate, State or federal ID must
be presented at the time of check-in. The cut-off date for hotel registration within our
room block is March 25, 2003. We cannot guarantee the space or room rates after that date.
Make your hotel reservation for the APPIC Membership Conference by calling the Disney
Coronado Springs Resort at 1-407-939-1020. Please let the hotel know if you need special
accommodations. Anyone who spends additional days in Disney World and Orlando will discover
a vacation area that offers much to visitors, and at a time of year when temperatures are
comfortable. The hotel will allow conference registrants to reserve rooms at the group room
rates from March 30, 2003 through April 9, 2003, provided that rooms are available. Hotel

Conference Schedule
-
Join friends and colleagues for a gala opening reception the evening of Thursday, April 3.
Those interested in APA accreditation or in serving as APA accreditation site visitors may
wish to come earlier on Thursday to take advantage of free APA pre-conference workshops.
The conference opens formally on Friday morning with a continental breakfast followed by
the keynote address. Meetings continue throughout Friday and Saturday, and the conference
ends late Saturday afternoon. For additional details on the 2003 Membership Conference
program, please go to APPIC web site, at http://www.appic.org.
Updated Call for Presentation Proposals
The Conference Program and Planning
Committees have issued an updated call for proposals to present at the conference.
Persons who would like to present should use the official Submission Form. A wide range of
presentation formats will be used, including invited addresses, panel discussions, paper
sessions on specific topics, informal all-to-all discussion groups, and poster sessions. The
goal is to encourage exchange of ideas. Presentations may be data, theory, or experience
based. The focus will be on thoughtful discussions about good training practices and support
for training programs.
The APPIC Membership Conference will feature
several distinguished invited speakers. Based on feedback from participants at the highly
successful 2001 APPIC New Orleans conference, presenters will be given more time to speak and
develop their ideas. There will be fewer presenters per session.
Updated Submission Deadline
Submissions will be reviewed by the Program Committee, which encourages broad participation
and tries to accommodate as many presenters as possible. There are still openings in the
program, and so the submission deadline has been extended to February 3, 2003. Persons
submitting proposals will be notified about the status of their submission by the second week
in February 2003.
