Bexar County Juvenile Probation STEP Postdoctoral Residency

Description: The Stabilization, Treatment and Evaluation Process postdoctoral resident provides psychological assessments, mental health services, consultation, and crisis intervention support to the juvenile justice system, juveniles and their families. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 1. conducting psychological assessments, clinical interviews and evaluations; providing individual, group and family psychotherapy services; providing psychological consultation to the Courts, the Department and community agencies; providing consultation on case management and effective therapeutic intervention with juveniles; providing didactic training to the Department and various agencies regarding Mental Health Services and practices; maintaining program documents, statistics and reports; assisting the Department’s clinical staff with the training and supervision of psychological services provided by pre-doctoral psychology residents as well as doctoral and master's level psychology students; providing feedback regarding assigned residents performance in conducting psychological testing, clinical interviews, and consultation assignments; assisting with the Department’s APA internship; and researching and recommending various Mental Health Services, tests and resources to improve services to supervisor that will help improve Department services; and performing other duties as assigned.
