2024 APPIC Match Statistics - Phase II

This report provides statistics and information about Phase II of the 2024 APPIC Match and the submission of applications via the AAPI service in Phase II. Additional statistics may be found in the report of the combined results for Phases I and II of the 2024 APPIC Match.
A total of 391 applicants matched to internship positions in Phase II, while 169 remained unmatched and 181 withdrew or did not submit rankings. A total of 215 positions remained unfilled at the conclusion of Phase II, with 105 (49%) located in accredited programs.
As compared to last year, there was an increase in the number of students who were registered for and eligible to participate in Phase II (741 vs. 636 last year, up 17%) and a decrease in the number of positions available in Phase II (606 vs. 679 last year, down 11%).
On average, students submitted 6% more applications in Phase II (13.0 vs. 12.3 last year), while sites received 40% more applications (32.7 vs 23.3 last year).
