This internship includes a major rotation (32 hours weekly) in child assessment, with a minor rotation (8 hours weekly) in school-based therapy and counseling. This internship is ideal for someone looking to work with children and families concentrating in diagnostic training and providing family counseling and school-based interventions. Frostburg State University’s Psychology Internship Program (231111) has great news that we want to share as you are making your final decisions about possible sites to consider for Phase II of the Match. In addition to the $24,000 annual salary, we are now providing RENT-FREE, on-campus housing to our interns during the year that they are at our site. The apartments are located in two of the high rise residence halls nearby our CAPS office – so no commuting costs or hassles! Each one is a 2-bedroom apartment complete with a full-size kitchen with appliances, as well as a washer and dryer. The apartment is modestly furnished and has a living room, dining area (with dining table and chairs) and full bath with tub/shower in addition to the 2 bedrooms. One bedroom is furnished with a queen sized bed, 2 dressers and nightstands. The second bedroom is furnished with only a desk and a chair. Internet and electricity are also included at no cost. Our current intern is living in one of the apartments this year and photos of one of the apartments will be sent to interested applicants. Portland State University's Center for Student Health and Counseling (SHAC) is changing the minimum number of intervention and assessment hours to 350 (majority should be therapy with adults), and turning the ADHD/LD assessment requirement into a strong preference (instead of a minimum requirement). If an applicant does not have ADHD/LD assessment experience, they should still have taken classes in assessment and possess an interest in assessment. Our Adult/Clinical Systems Placement (182717), which was previously only available to University of Ottawa Applicants, is now open to all Phase II applicants. Finally the Adult/Clinical Bilingual ROC Placement (182718) will no longer be offered.
