APPIC Community Call: Artificial Intelligence in Psychology Training

Artificial intelligence is becoming part of the landscape of psychology education, training, supervision, administration, and clinical practice. As training directors, faculty, supervisors, and trainees navigate this evolving technology, many questions remain about how AI can be used effectively, ethically, and responsibly within psychology training programs.

This APPIC Community Call is not a webinar or formal presentation. Rather, it is an opportunity for APPIC members and training leaders to come together for an open discussion about AI and its role in psychology training. We want to hear from our members!

The goal of this community call is to create space for participants to share experiences, exchange ideas, and learn from one another. We invite attendees to come prepared to discuss questions such as:

• How are you currently using AI within your training program (e.g., are you using it during recruitment)?
• What opportunities have you discovered?
• What challenges, concerns, or barriers are you encountering?
• How are you approaching issues related to ethics, confidentiality, assessment, supervision, and trainee competency?
• What policies, guidelines, or best practices are emerging within your setting?

Whether you are actively integrating AI into your program, exploring its potential, or trying to understand its implications, we welcome your perspective. The collective wisdom of the APPIC community can help us better navigate this rapidly changing area together.

Join us for an informal, collaborative conversation focused on sharing experiences, asking questions, and learning from colleagues across the APPIC community.  This will be recorded and posted on the APPIC website.
