UNLV PRACTICE®, an interdisciplinary community mental health clinic (https://www.unlv.edu/thepractice), invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow in Psychology with a Generalist Community and Group Psychotherapy Focus with a start date to coincide with the beginning of the 2021-22 academic training year (August 2021).

UNLV PRACTICE┬« is an innovative and growing training clinic committed to serving the mental and behavioral health needs of a diverse community with culturally responsive, evidence-based practices and programs for children, adolescents, and adults. In addition to individual psychotherapy, we offer and train in comprehensive psychological assessment, group psychotherapy, trauma- and grief-focused interventions, preschool-grade 12 outreach, and telehealth. We seek applicants who are excited to join a community-engaged and inter-professional training environment that provides clinical mental health services to diverse populations considering intersectional identities in clinical conceptualization and treatment.

The successful applicant will be expected to work with our team to fulfill administrative, program development, and clinical responsibilities of a multifaceted group psychotherapy program. The Fellowship entails group psychotherapy facilitation, provision of supervision to masters and doctoral psychology and counseling students, and program evaluation.  Opportunities to provide adjunctive individual psychotherapy and assessment and attend didactic training programs will be available. Group psychotherapy training and/or experience is preferred. Training will align with licensing requirements in Nevada.

Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA-accredited Health Service Psychology scientist-practitioner or practitioner-scholar program, an APA-accredited clinical internship, and be eligible to register as a Psychological Assistant in Nevada.

Salary is competitive with those at similarly situated institutions and the position is contingent upon funding. UNLV is a doctoral-degree-granting institution of approximately 29,000 students and more than 3,000 faculty and staff that is classified R1 (research university with very high research activity) by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. UNLV is the third most ethnically diverse campus in the nation, with over 20,000 students from underrepresented groups. UNLV has been designated as an Asian-American and Native-American, Pacific Islander-Serving Institution (AANAPISI) and as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). The university is committed to recruiting and retaining top students and faculty, building and fostering a culturally inclusive environment, educating the region's diversifying population and workforce, driving economic activity through increased research and community partnerships, and creating an academic health center for Southern Nevada that includes the UNLV School of Medicine.
