The Anxiety Treatment Center of Austin offers a one-year postdoctoral fellowship focused on the assessment and treatment of adults with anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and related conditions in a specialty private practice setting. Training emphasizes evidence-based practice within a scientist-practitioner framework, with a strong focus on the development of advanced clinical skills. Postdoctoral fellows gain experience treating a range of presenting concerns, including panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, specific phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder, illness anxiety disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, and related difficulties. Primary treatment approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and other exposure-based interventions. The fellowship provides a collaborative and supportive training environment. Fellows participate in weekly individual supervision, weekly clinical seminars, and regular staff consultation meetings in which clinicians discuss cases and share expertise. In addition to developing advanced competence in the treatment of anxiety and OCD, fellows have opportunities for specialized training in areas such as culturally responsive care, therapist-client dynamics, perfectionism, group therapy, and supervision. The program offers flexibility in scheduling, with fellows able to see clients during regular business hours as well as evenings or weekends. Both in-person and telehealth services are available.
