Research Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Child Psychology/Developmental Pediatrics Medical University of South Carolina
Applications are invited for a research postdoctoral fellowship position in Clinical Child Psychology/Developmental Pediatrics during the 2025-2026 academic year within the Division of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). The fellow will be involved in a large, funded trial examining telehealth delivery of Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) for Spanish Speaking Families at risk for trauma. Primary duties will include conducting study related assessments, delivering PCIT, data analysis, manuscript preparation, grantsmanship, and assistance with management of research assistants. Participation in other ongoing research projects examining behavioral therapy and assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders will be available.

Opportunities for additional clinical rotations to pursue hours toward licensure are also available. The Division of Developmental Pediatrics serves children birth through 21 years of age, with a wide range of medically complex and/or neurodevelopmental conditions. A variety of rotations in the division are available, depending on the interests of fellows, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Assessment, Preschool Evaluation, Sickle Cell Developmental Screening Program, and Neuropsychological Evaluation.
The Division of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics includes outpatient clinic located in a major medical center that serves a diverse population of patients from a large geographic area (www.musckids.org/developmentalpeds/#about). The Pediatric Psychology team currently consists of seven licensed psychologists and one licensed psychoeducational specialist. The team works closely with other allied health professionals to provide comprehensive psychological and medical care to children. The division also participates in the nationally recognized, APA-accredited Charleston Consortium Psychology Internship Training Program (academicdepartments.musc.edu/psychology_internship/index.htm). Postdoctoral fellows in the division gain experience with a wide variety of populations, including children with developmental disabilities, complex medical and neurological conditions, autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, attention problems, behavior problems, anxiety disorders, and psychiatric disorders. Postdoctoral fellows may participate in the South Carolina Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (SC LEND) fellowship program (academicdepartments.musc.edu/sclend/). Postdoctoral fellows also participate in a bimonthly didactic series and have opportunity to attend psychiatry, pediatric, and/or neuroscience grand rounds.
