Fellowship Overview: This 12-month postdoctoral fellowship provides specialized training in child, adolescent, and family psychology. Fellows develop advanced clinical and assessment skills through direct work with children, teens, and parents across both Connections Child & Family Center and The Center for Postpartum & Family Health. Training emphasizes the developmental, relational, and family contexts of psychopathology and the use of evidence-based, culturally responsive interventions. The program is graduated and progressive, supporting fellows as they move from exposure to competence to expertise — with a goal of preparing them for confident, independent practice in child and family mental health. 

Core Responsibilities: Deliver evidence-based psychotherapy for children and adolescents. Provide behavioral and parenting consultations to caregivers. Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations (diagnostic, psychoeducational, developmental). Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members for case consultation and coordination. Participate in community and school-based collaboration when applicable. Opportunities to create specialized offerings (e.g., child groups, parent workshops). Optional participation in our comprehensive DBT program and advanced DBT training. 

Training & Supervision: Fellows receive rich supervision and mentorship designed to strengthen their clinical judgment, confidence, and professional identity. 

You will receive: 

  • Weekly individual supervision with two licensed psychologists (rotating emphasis on therapy and assessment). 
  • Weekly didactics, case conferences, and testing consultation groups 
  • Collaboration with a team of clinicians specializing in child therapy, DBT, school psychology, and developmental assessment

Evaluation Experience: Fellows gain extensive hands-on experience in the assessment of children and teens presenting with ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, learning differences, mood and anxiety disorders, and complex developmental presentations. Training in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) is available. 

Private Practice & Professional Development: In addition to clinical training, fellows learn the foundations of ethical, sustainable private practice. Education covers practice management, marketing, billing, and productivity systems. 

Additional opportunities: Supervision or mentorship of practicum students (optional) Involvement in program development and community outreach.

Supervising Psychologists: Dr. Pasqua has 20+ years of experience in pediatric assessment and treatment, with advanced postdoctoral training in early childhood mental health and autism spectrum disorders. Dr. Wiese brings over 10 years of experience in school psychology, behavior analysis, ERP for OCD, DBT, and comprehensive child assessment and therapy. Our practice also includes four additional licensed psychologists who may provide consultation or supervision depending on the fellow’s clinical interests. 

  • Fellowship Requirements Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA-accredited program in professional psychology Completion of an APA-accredited full-time internship
  •  Strong foundational assessment skills 
  • Experience working with children, teens, and families
  •  Licensed or license-eligible as a Provisionally Licensed Psychologist in Texas 
  • Authorized to work in the United States
