This position conducts individual and group psychotherapy sessions, provides staff education on psychological issues, and conducts psychological evaluations, including forensic risk assessments and competency to proceed with trial evaluations for individuals committed under F.S. 916. This position also requires the post-doctoral resident to be an active member of an assigned treatment team. The resident will provide supplementary supervision to graduate practicum students. This position would be tailored to the residents’ professional goals as much as it is feasible, to make the experience an enjoyable one.
Minimum Requirements:
APA approved doctoral program in clinical or counseling psychology (Ph.D or Psy.D.).
Ability to provide transcripts and a copy of their doctoral degree by the start date of the postdoctoral residency
Completion of an American Psychological Association (APA)-approved or a member of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Center (APPIC) internship prior to beginning the postdoctoral residency.
Experience with Severe Mental Illness population is preferred.
Forensic assessment experience preferred.
Other:
Spanish-speaker preferred, but not required.
Prior supervision experience preferred, but not required.

Any offer of employment, including a postdoctoral residency, is contingent upon, but not limited to, the successful completion of the following: Level 2, Florida Department of Children and Families Background Investigation; Drug testing and pre-employment physical including Tuberculosis screening and Titer blood testing; Mandatory 6 day facility Orientation which includes certification in "MANDT," our verbal de-escalation training process and Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) curriculum through the American Heart Association.
Applicants for the 2025-2026 postdoctoral year will be invited for a virtual interview in February. The interview should last approximately one hour with the supervisors.
