Two Post-doctoral Resident positions are being offered at FAU Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). This is a full-time, 12-month post-doctoral residency. During the training year, each resident will accrue 2,000 hours of supervised experience, which meets the requirements for licensure in the state of Florida. Of these 2,000 hours, at least 900 will be spent in activities related to direct client contact (e.g., initial assessment, individual, couples, relationship, and/or group therapy, psychological testing, provision of supervision, crisis intervention, case management, consultation, outreach programming). Our residency program is unique in not only offering traditional generalist training but also offers a specialty emphasis area for advanced training. Emphasis areas include, but are not limited to, eating disorders, training & supervision, group counseling, assessment, specific populations, and trauma-focused therapy (See post-doc brochure on our website for further information on emphasis areas). The post-doc program allows for flexibility and for residents to individualize their experiences to align with their goals and solidify their professional identities.
