MetroHealth Medical Center and Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in Cleveland, Ohio are pleased to invite applications for one to two-year Postdoctoral Fellowships with emphasis in Integrated/Primary Care Pediatric Psychology, Neurodevelopmental Disabilities/Pediatric Neuropsychology, Adult Serious Mental Illness or Adult Health Psychology starting on 9/1/2026. All fellowships are designed to prepare future psychologists for an academically-oriented career in an integrated care setting by focusing on clinical and research training with an underserved population. The specific experiences can be individualized to meet fellows’ training and professional goals. 70% of the time will be spent in direct clinical care of patients from underserved populations. Depending on the rotations and training clinics, opportunities may include: working with interdisciplinary teams, individual and/or group psychotherapy, working directly with patients and families) and psychological assessment 30% of the time will be spent in academic activities: Teaching: including educational presentations to psychology and/or medical residents Umbrella supervision of psychology interns and/or practicum students Research: including., recruitment and data collection, grant writing, manuscript preparation, mentored journal reviews), and Professional development (e.g., didactics, professional development seminars, grand rounds, administrative time, and supervision). The MetroHealth System is one of the largest, most comprehensive health care providers in Northeast Ohio. MetroHealth, Cleveland's first hospital and a principal teaching center of the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine (CWRU), is the flagship unit of The MetroHealth System and includes a Level I trauma center, a regional burn center, and Metro Life Flight, the country's second busiest emergency air transport system. MetroHealth is located on the near east and west sides of Cleveland, Ohio. Situated on Lake Erie, Cleveland is a mid-sized city that is experiencing a renaissance that began with sports venues downtown and continues with revitalized historical neighborhoods on the west side and a burgeoning corridor between the city's center and the east side. Cleveland boasts numerous Colleges and Universities, Art Museums and Theaters. Cleveland is surrounded by the Emerald Necklace, an extensive system of nature preserves and parks. The various reservations, which largely encircle the city of Cleveland, tend to follow the rivers and creeks that flow through the region.
ADULT HEALTH PSYCHOLOGY (2 Positions): Health Psychology fellows will provide consultation and brief intervention across primary and specialty care clinics (e.g., Bariatric surgery and Weight management, Geropsychology, Pain Management, PRIDE, Oncology, and Sleep medicine*) and inpatient consultation liaison service. The Health Psychology Fellowship provides opportunities to cultivate skills across several Health Psychology competencies, including assessments (e.g., Bariatric evaluations, Gender Affirming Surgical evaluations, and cognitive assessment), interdisciplinary consultation, and brief interventions. There are also opportunities for fellows to develop clinical programs and/or further psychology’s integration/role in additional clinics. Clinical opportunities are tailored to each fellow’s interests, goals, and growth edges. Fellows will work with the Track Lead to develop a training program that prepares them for a career in Clinical Health Psychology. As such, this fellowship follows the Council of Clinical Health Psychology Training Programs (CCHPTP) training guidelines for Major Area of Study with Health Psychology fellows completing ≥ 80% of supervised experiences in Health Psychology rotations.

- Fellows will receive a bank of 288 hours of paid time off (coded as GME-PTO) that will cover: 7 Federal Holidays (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas), 4 “floating” holidays (Martin Luther King Day, Presidents’ Day, Indigenous Peoples Day and Veterans Day), 10 days of vacation, and 14 days of sick leave. In addition, fellows receive 5 professional days and $750 in educational funds to support travel conference attendance. Fellows are eligible for health insurance through MetroHealth Medical Center. Fellows contribute to the Ohio Public Employee Retirement System (OPERS).

1. Cover letter describing your career goals and a detailed description of how the postdoctoral fellowship at MetroHealth will help you achieve those goals. Make sure to include information pertaining to your experiences with medical settings, interprofessional teams, evidence-based interventions, psychological assessment, and research/scholarship.
2. Vita
3. Three letters of recommendation. At least one of these must be from an internship supervisor.
4. Letter from your dissertation chair regarding dissertation status and anticipated completion date. If your dissertation chair is one of your three letters of recommendation, this information can be included in that letter.
5. Writing sample, preferably an integrated testing report.
6. Optional: 1-2 reprints or preprints of peer-reviewed journal articles or book chapters (please do not send a copy of your dissertation or thesis).
