Northeast Georgia Psychological Services (NGPS) is a thriving private practice located in Hoschton, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. We are currently accepting applications for 2 postdoctoral position openings. NGPS is a growing practice that provides outpatient psychotherapy and assessments to adults, children, and families. Qualifying experience will include comprehensive training and experience in clinical interview, psychological assessment, and report writing. Postdoctoral fellows have the opportunity to receive clinical training in working with  adults, children, and adolescents. Postdoctoral fellows also have the opportunity to focus on child and adolescent assessment or adult assessment. Furthermore, if a postdoctoral fellow has an interest in a particular diagnosis or set of diagnoses, there are opportunities for specialized training in those areas, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Mood Disorders, and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. Postdoctoral fellows will also be able to work with diverse and underserved populations. Postdoctoral fellows will also attain a wide range of experiences during the postdoctoral year, including assessment, clinical interviewing, and report writing. There are also opportunities for postdoctoral fellows to gain professional development and training in the psychological practice from a business perspective. Additionally, there are opportunities for postdoctoral fellows to provide psychotherapy services, as well. Postdoctoral fellows are able to gain exposure to a wide array of assessments, potentially including Social Security Disability evaluations, general diagnostic evaluations, fitness for duty, vocational rehabilitation evaluations, assessments for surgical/medical clearance, and psychoeducational evaluations. Flex time is offered 2 days per week and in-person work is only required 3 days per week. Postdoctoral fellows will be supervised by a licensed psychologist and will meet qualifications for licensure in the state of Georgia. If the postdoctoral fellow is seeking licensure in a state other than Georgia, we will work to provide supervision commensurate with the requirements of state in which the postdoc is seeking licensure. Prospective applicants should have excellent report writing skills and be prepared for a rewarding experience. The majority of our postdoctoral fellows opt for a 40 hour per week fellowship for a period of one year. However, the postdoctoral fellowship schedule is flexible based on the needs of the postdoctoral fellow. Part time as well as full time students are considered. Additionally, there are opportunities for both one year and two year fellowships, as well. Competitive pay is offered. The preferred start date is flexible and can begin in August 2023 or September 2023.
