One full-time PCIT postdoctoral fellowship position is available at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine for the 2024-2025 training year. The PCIT 305 program at the University of Miami is one of the largest PCIT clinical programs in the country with over 25 faculty, staff, and trainees providing free PCIT services to approximately 350 families per year across six clinics and via telehealth. The PCIT Postdoctoral Fellow receives specialty training in delivery of Parent-Child Interaction Therapy for children with disruptive behaviors and children with concurrent risks including autism, developmental concerns, and/or child maltreatment. We provide specialty training in delivery of services via Internet-Based PCIT, services in Spanish, services for children with Autism, and PCIT-CALM for young children with anxiety. Fellows who are already trained as PCIT therapists have the opportunity to train to become a Within-Agency Trainer. Multiple research opportunities exist for fellows based on interest.

A School Based Integrated Primary Care Postdoctoral Fellowship is also available at the Mailman Center for Child Development at the University of Miami School of Medicine. This position will be part of our School Health Initiative (SHI), a project designed to provide comprehensive healthcare services to children in some of Miami’s severely under-resourced communities. SHI now operates in nine schools, providing care to over 12,000 children per year, regardless of their ability to pay. At our clinics, housed inside schools in at-risk Miami communities, we offer free primary health care to students on site and facilitate access to specialists at the University of Miami, including for psychological interventions. The fellow’s time will be split between research and clinical activities. Clinically, the fellow will engage in outpatient therapy, consultation-liaison, and group therapy. This is not an assessment position. This person will also supervise trainees. The fellow will work closely with our interdisciplinary team which includes pediatric health psychologists, pediatricians, nurses, social workers, and patient navigators. Common presenting problems include anxiety, ADHD, depression, trauma, and lack of adherence to medical regimen. There will be opportunities for telehealth experience. Research opportunities will consist of grant writing, data management, statistical analyses, and manuscript writing.
