The Psychology Residency Program at the MEDVAMC provides a systematic and sequenced program for developing advanced skills that expand and build upon existing knowledge bases developed during graduate and internship training. By the completion of their training term, Residents will have the preparation necessary to function as autonomous professional psychologists in a variety of settings, including VA and other academic medical centers. Graduates of our program have obtained competitive clinical, research, and leadership positions in academic medical settings. The Residency is based on a scientist-practitioner model of training, in which Residents engage in clinical/didactic training 80% of their time and research/program evaluation 20% of the time. Diversity training is a strength of our program. At this time, we anticipate that training will occur in a hybrid format, where trainees will be on-site and telework during the training year. Please see our program brochure for additional information.
