As the largest postdoctoral residency program in the Bay Area, our staff consists of numerous former trainees which helps contribute to a culture of growth and learning for each cohort. Postdoctoral residents are made to feel welcome and are truly valued as part of our team.
Postdoctoral Residents spend their year as part of either the Adult Team, the Child & Family Team or the Behavioral Medicine Team. The medical centers also includes an Addiction Medicine Recovery Services (AMRS), Chronic Pain, Intensive Outpatient Program, Emergency/Consultation & Liaison Services and Behavioral Health Education. Residents have opportunities to rotate through many of these services over the course of the training year.
Our Adult and Child/Family postdocs spend the bulk of their time in the Mental Health department but can also rotate through other teams for up to one-quarter of their time. Our Health Psych postdocs are embedded in Primary Care but can rotate through other departments in the medical center including oncology, women's health, and chronic pain.
Our staff consists of a vibrant mix of psychologists, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, marriage and family therapists, psychological assistants and practicum students. In addition to individual therapy and medication management, our clinic hosts over 40 weekly groups for a wide range of problems (examples include Depression, PTSD, Happiness, DBT, Bipolar, Mindfulness and much more).
We are a tight-knit clinic and think of ourselves as family. We value residents who work well with others and are open and receptive to feedback. Residents who are hard-working, flexible and eager to learn tend to flourish at our site. We look forward to reviewing your application.
