The Department of Neurology at Thomas Jefferson University/Sidney Kimmel Medical College is recruiting for our two-year Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology. For 25 years, our program has provided high-quality training in neuropsychology at the pre- and post-doctoral levels within an internationally-known epilepsy program at one of the largest academic neurology departments in the country. Our group is currently composed of five neuropsychologists, two postdoctoral fellows, and several predoctoral interns and practicum students. Neuropsychology faculty are part of the Epilepsy and Cognitive Disorders Divisions in the Department of Neurology. We are currently recruiting for TWO postdoctoral fellows for positions beginning in approximately July 2026.

The fellowship program uses a scientist-practitioner model that has clinical, didactic, and research opportunities. Training follows the Houston Conference guidelines (and pending Minnesota Conference guidelines) and will prepare fellows for board certification in neuropsychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP). The training focuses on adult and geriatric populations. Fellows will have the opportunity to see individuals with a range of medical, neurological, and psychiatric diagnoses. Approximately 50% of a fellow’s time will focus on seeing patients through the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, including pre- and post-surgical neuropsychological evaluations and assessments to aid in the differential diagnosis of psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES). Other primary responsibilities include evaluations of referrals through the Cognitive Disorders division and pre-surgical evaluations for deep brain stimulation (DBS) for the treatment of movement disorders including Parkinson’s disease. Inpatient referrals for acute neurologic questions come from the neurology ward service. There are opportunities to see neurologic populations for individual cognitive rehabilitation and individual psychotherapy.

Neuropsychology fellows will provide tiered supervision of practicum students and predoctoral interns on select cases. Neuropsychology fellows also participate in a range of didactics in neuropsychology, neurology, neurosurgery, and related topics. A weekly seminar is held for all neuropsychology trainees, consisting of case presentations, didactics on subjects of interest, and mock fact-finding exercises in preparation for ABPP-CN board certification. Fellows also attend weekly neurology grand rounds and epilepsy surgical conference. Numerous other didactic opportunities are available, including cognitive disorders case conference, neurosurgery and psychiatry grand rounds, participation in our functional and structural neuroimaging program, and invited lectures. Participation in neuropsychological research or program development is expected through collaboration with ongoing studies and/or development of an independent research project in the second year. Fellows receive benefits and salary commensurate with NIH guidelines.

Fellows will have the opportunity to work with the following faculty:

Joseph Tracy, Ph.D., ABPP-CN, Professor, Director of Neuropsychology Division

Jennifer Tinker, Ph.D., Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Director of Neuropsychology

Abigail Lyon, Psy.D., Clinical Assistant Professor, Director of Predoctoral Training

Gregory Seidel, Ph.D., Clinical Assistant Professor, Director of Postdoctoral Training
