| Program Description |
Program Description:
The C&C internship program uses a developmental-practitioner training model to prepare psychologists with competencies in: A) clinical intake and assessment, individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, collaboration with multidisciplinary team, outreach, and consultation; B) multicultural competency; C) professional skills, self awareness, and ethical practice.
An important training premise is that interns benefit from being exposed to a variety of role models with differing theoretical orientations, professional interests, and skills. The diversity of role models is seen as enhancing the development of the interns unique professional identity. Primary strengths of the C&C internship are the quality of supervision and the staff's commitment to training.
C&C actively works to model and to promote:
* The valuing of human differences on individual, organizational, and community levels.
* The facilitation of human potential.
The internship program includes: A)triage and initial evaluation, provision of focused individual therapy & group therapy, consultation, outreach, and emergency services (including some on-call service primarily to residential life), C) Diversity Seminar and Intern Seminar D) supervision of a practicum student
