| Program Description |
Program Description:
The program offers positions within four areas of emphasis:
* Center for Psychotherapeutic Change:
In collaboration with the Director of Training and other staff, the two residents will assume administrative and program development responsibility within the Center. Residents will engage a range of individual and group therapy, with a particular opportunity to pursue one's particular interests.
* Interdisciplinary Psychosocial Rehabilitation:
Within this residency position, the resident will become part of an interdisciplinary team of post-graduate fellows. Residents train within two primary psychosocial rehabilitation venues, and will also become actively involved in program development and educational dissemination activities.
* Primary Care:
Residents fully participate in all aspects of our integrated primary care behavioral health program. In addition, residents will be a part of a collaborative training program with the Univ of Massachusetts School of Medicine.
* Neuropsychology:
Within this 2-year residency position, the resident will engage neuropsychological assessment along with supervision of neuropsychology interns and practicum students. The resident also spends one full day per week at the Alzheimers Disease Center, where a range of research opportunities and clinical work are available.
The training philosophy of the program involves an integration of professional activity and training from four primary domains: clinical; program development and administration; supervision and teaching; and research. All residents train in the provision of psychotherapy supervision to practicum students, provide both individual and group psychotherapy, engage in research or program evaluation, become involved in program development and administration, and present professional development seminars to psychology interns and hospital staff. The resident is afforded considerable flexibility regarding training experiences and clinical focus. |
