Program Description
Program Description:
Interns deliver clinical services in a multi-disciplinary, out-patient clinic serving children & families, regardless of their income level. Interns receive training & experience in child, family, & adult individual therapy; family therapy; group therapy; psychological assessment; autism diagnosis; child neuropsychology & consultation with professional & lay populations. Interns are routinely exposed to situations which offer opportunities to use their existing knowledge in a complex, real-world setting. The internship provides support when interns reach the limits of their knowledge, encouraging interns to gather new data/information, test their assumptions, develop new hypotheses, and/or expand their skill base. Professional identity is developed and supported through actively seeking mentors (both within the Center and in the community at large) who work closely with interns in their specific areas of skill and interest.
