Program Description:
Mission: To equip and prepare future psychologists to work competently with underserved populations (children/ adolescents, racial/ethnic minorities, rural persons, low income individuals, older adults, etc.) from a distinctly Christian perspective. This is accomplished through: EXPERIENCE working with many different underserved persons in a variety of clinical settings (urban, suburban, rural); EXPOSURE to various therapeutic modalities geared to address the specific challenges faced by underserved groups; EXEMPLARS in the profession who share their passion for this work through supervision, mentoring and professional development; ENRICHED service provision through collaborative research projects geared towards cultivating enhanced perspectives in work with marginalized groups; EXTENDING this enriched perspective to foster a greater number of professionals to work competently with the underserved; and in all things, EXEMPLIFYING Jesus Christ in work with these persons.

APA accreditation status: CACTC has been accredited with APA since 2002. In 2007, CACTC was reaccredited for an additional 7 years (2014).

Consortia Partners: Center for Rural Psychology (Elburn), Cornerstone Counseling Center of Chicago (Chicago), Lawndale Christian Health Center (Chicago) Lydia Home Association (Chicago), Outreach Community Ministries (Wheaton/Carol Stream), and Wheaton College Graduate School - Dept of Psychology.

Rotations: Interns located at primary site 4 days/wk, secondary site 1 day/wk. Primary and Secondary Rotations are available at all sites (except Wheaton).
