Program Description
Program Description:
The psychology internship program at Temple University is housed administratively within the Department of Psychiatry, but is also centered around three separate research-based clinics, two of which are affiliated with Temple University's Department of Psychology. For all interns there is an outpatient psychotherapy component to the internship experience centered in the outpatient psychiatry clinic at Temple's Episcopal Hospital. Along with the common element of the outpatient psychiatry service, the internship is comprised of three distinct year-long primary concentrations: (1)The CORE concentration (obesity research and treatment), the MAD concentration (intermittent explosive and other emotion dysregulation disorders), and the CAADC concentration (child and adolescent anxiety disorders). Each of these specific concentrations, or tracks, is centered in a research-focused, grant-supported clinic dedicated to the development and evaluation of empirically-supported treatment approaches for specific disorders and clinical problems. These three concentrations, will compliment the outpatient psychiatry component that is common to each of the three internship tracks. There is also a significant research component to the internship that is tied to the specific concentration. Each concentration is year-long (non-rotational), and applicants will be able to apply to one or more concentrations within the internship as appropriate for their interests and training.

Interested applicants should consult the link to the psychology internship program from the Psychiatry Department's webpage (http://www.temple.edu/medicine/departments_centers/clinical_departments/psychiatry_psychology_pre_doctoral_internship.htm) for a fuller description of the program and the 3 tracks to which one can apply.

The stipend for the 2013-14 internship year is under review and is likely to be increased somewhat, but a final decision on the exact stipend level has not yet been made.
