| Program Description |
Program Description:
We have 2 separate APA accredited programs which together have a total of 12 Postdoc Fellows.
Brief description follows: One program is a Specialty Program in CLINICAL NEUROPSYCHOLOGY-3 positions, 2 yr training-Fellows Adult Clinical Neuropsychology, designed to meet INS-Div. 40 & Houston Conf Guidelines. Didactic activities in neuroscience, neurology & case conferences. Primarily adults with some child patients, both inpatient & outpatient experience. Research opportunities.
The other separately accredited program is in Clinical Psychology with 6 different emphasis areas. Brief description of EMPHASIS areas are:
CLINICAL CHILD Emphasis 3 positions: (1 yr) Clinical & research training in child maltreatment. LEND and interdisciplinary training programs available. PEDIATRIC PSYCHOLOGY Emphasis-2 positions (1 yr) Clinical and research activities working with families of children with chronic and acute medical conditions in inpatient and outpatient settings.
PRIMARY CARE/HEALTH PSYCHOLOGY Emphasis-2 positions, 1 yr primary training site - VA Med Center. Didactic activities: Case conferences, Grand Rounds & seminars. Work with multidisciplinary primary care & medicine teams, providing consultation & focused direct services. Topic areas addressed include mental health primary care, adherence to medical regimens, pain management & psychological aspects of medical illness.
CHRONIC MENTAL ILLNESS Emphasis-1 position yr. Training experience in inpatient & community-based programs & other VA units.
COMBAT STRESS RECOVERY Emphasis-1 position yr training experience in intensive PTSD group program & OEF/OIF readjustment program. VA positions require US citizenship.
